Restaurant Story is Tom’s flagship restaurant and home. Situated close to London Bridge, it opened its doors seven years ago in April 2013. To celebrate 5 years of opening, Story underwent a full refurbishment reopening to the public in May 2018 with a new menu concept and stunning interiors.
Simply put, Story serves a tasting menu of delicate, masterful dishes inspired and led by the British seasons and the very best produce available.
Each course tells a story: it could be inspired by a moment in Tom’s life or the provenance of an ingredient. The menu is served in an intimate, 10- table restaurant by a team that Tom has built around him throughout his career.
Tom is known for breaking convention and merging fine dining with forward thinking and casual restaurant culture. No pretension; this is dining for those who demand an experience that is aspirational, interactive and playful.
Tom learned his craft alongside some of the world’s greatest and most influential chefs, including Tom Aikens in London, Thomas Keller at three Michelin-starred Per Se in New York, and René Redzepi at three Michelin starred Noma in Copenhagen - all before the age of 21.
After learning his craft Tom went on to open Restaurant Story in 2013, aged 26. Story gained a Michelin Star after just 5 months, which has been retained ever since. In 2021 Story was awarded its second Michelin star.
The ten-table restaurant is known for Tom’s signature dishes, including ‘Bread and dripping’; an edible candle made from beef tallow that melts to be eaten with bread.
Now, eight years on, Story continues to develop its ever-changing seasonal tasting menu whilst incorporating Tom’s characterful, playful and ingredient-led philosophy. Forbes Magazine UK name Tom one of their ‘30 Under 30’ in 2016, as a prodigious talent in The Arts.
His debut book, A Kind of Love Story was published in October 2016 by Hachette UK. Despite all his achievements, it seems Tom Sellers’ story has only just begun…
